Geek Artistique is designed to provide a gallery type venue to celebrate and show off "Geek Art" that is all too often relegated to various cons. Artists are invited to enter their art work in any of the following categories.
Entries will be received on Saturday, August 27th, 2016 from 12- 4 pm. The show opening will be at Art Hop Thursday, September 1st, from 5 - 8 pm. |

Geek Artistique Show Rules and Details
GEEK ARTISTIQUE SHOW Chris Sorensen Studio 2223 S. Van Ness (at the Fresno Arch) Fresno, CA 93721 (559) 760-7750 This show is designed to provide a gallery showing venue for Science Fiction, Fantasy, Animation, Comic Art and Fan Art. The show is open to all artists and all media. It will be a juried show. IMPORTANT DEADLINES:
Rules: By entering, you agree to these rules: 1. Works must pertain to the overall theme of Geek Art and firmly fit into one of the four categories: Science Fiction, Fantasy, Animation, Comic Book Art, Fan Art. 2. All media will be considered: painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, mixed, etc. 3. Only original work may be submitted by the artist or friend/designated agent of the artist. 4. There is a nonrefundable fee of $15 per entry (artists are limited to a maximum of 3 entries) 5. All art work must be ready to hang (Framed with functional hook or wire) any piece that requires special hardware to hang besides a simple hook must submit the special hardware with the piece). 6. All work must be complete and dry before entry. 7. Extremely large pieces or installation are subject to space availability. 8. All sculpture must be easily moved through a standard door. 9. All work must be labeled on the back or bottom with name and current contact information. 10. Work must stay on display for entire length of exhibition. 11. Artist may price work for sale. Works not for sale must have a stated value. 12. A 25% commission on all sales goes to Chris Sorensen. 13. Check-in and check-out times and dates will be strictly enforced. There are no exceptions. Work left before check-in times will not be accepted for jury. The studio will not be responsible for work not picked up. Work left will become property of the studio and may be discarded. 14. Non-compliance of any guideline will result in non-acceptance of work. 15. Though every effort is put forth to secure art at the studio, the Chris Sorensen Studio, Geek Artistique or its curators shall not be held responsible for any loss, damage or theft of items. Artists should carry their own insurance if they have concerns. 16. Long distance entries CAN be submitted for jury. They must arrive BEFORE the submission date (or be juried via email communication), must be submitted with a prepaid form of return, and artist is responsible for any/all shipping insurance. Those interested in submitting art through shipping methods must contact either Lisa Anderson or Martin Shapiro (contact info below) in advance to make arrangements. 17. Art installations must be put together by the artist during the receiving entries time frame. 18. Artists agree that images of their entries may be used to promote the show through social media, emails, and mail. 19. (We prefer emailed entry forms, it makes things run more smoothly and helps avoid typos on display cards, however, we WILL also have entry forms available at the studio on Saturday). Please carefully PROOFREAD your entry form, as the information on it will be copied directly onto the display cards for the show. Entry Form should contain the following information for EACH entry: Name: Address: Phone: Email: Entry Category: (Science Fiction, Fantasy, Animation, Comic Art, Fan Art, Cartoon) Entry Title: Entry Description: (A short description of what your entry depicts. Consider that not all visitors will be familiar with all the various genre.
